VectorMan (1995)

VectorMan was Sega’s answer to Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Country, but its anything but a pale imitation. An action platformer in the same vein as Earthworm Jim, VectorMan combines slick controls, excellent visuals, and a driving techno soundtrack (one of the games most memorable features) to create one of my personal favorite Sega Genesis games. The difficulty might be too steep for some, but it’s a worthy play in any form you can find it in.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
